Issue 508 – Top marks for Phoebe
Melksham teenager Phoebe Kime is among the few in the country to have achieved top marks in her A-level exams.
18-year-old Phoebe achieved A* grades in all three of her subjects - art, textiles, and photography.
In both art and textiles, her marks placed her in the top 1% in the whole country. As if that’s not enough, were it not for two marks she would also have been in the top 1% for photography.
Phoebe, who took her exams at The Corsham School, will now be able to use her top grades to take an art foundation course at City of Bath College. She eventually wants to go on to study at university, aiming for a career in fashion.
“I did put in a lot of work so I’m obviously really pleased with the results,” Phoebe told Melksham Independent News. “It’s just a bit of a shame I dropped those two marks in photography!”
