Issue 504 – They did it! Friends conquer three highest peaks

23 hours and 21 minutes is the time is took a group of friends from Broughton Gifford to scale the UK’s highest peaks - all in the name of charity.

The group undertook the Three Peaks challenge on June 20th, which saw them driving between the peaks for around 10 hours of the day as well as climbing them.
Team member Christian Key said, “We had fantastic weather all weekend and were blessed with stunning views off the top of all three peaks which is incredibly lucky! We were all pretty tired by the end of it and a couple of team members did pick up some knee injuries. We have all fully recovered now.”
So far the group has raised over £4,700 and they are expecting to break the £5,000 barrier very soon. If anyone wishes to donate to Dorothy House and the Broughton Gifford pre-school, then they can donate online at www. bg3peaks.co.uk.
Christian added, “We would like to thank our sponsors which include Barclays for their kind donations.
“This will allow us to provide better facilities for our children and will encourage them to integrate closely with the school from an early age.”
The team members are: Christian Key, Richard Francis, Matt Grylls, Dean Cavill, Jon Harland, Jenny Giles, Sandra Sully, Colin Davies, Claire Atkins and Chris Rees, plus drivers John Drummond and Darren Ward.
